As you wind down the lane away from the Calangute road, before reaching the main villa and casinhas of Aashyana  Lakhanpal, the striking rooftops of the Villa Venus will come into view. Surrounded by high walls, palms and lush greenery this single storey building of Portuguese origin, circa 1830, has  been beautifully restored and renovated to retain an authentic feel throughout. Once inside the gates you leave the world behind. A shaded path leads up to a classical porch and wide verandah which overlooks an inviting, mosaic tiled 20 meter private pool set to the right of the villa.

Internally the sophisticated planning provides a vista from the front to the rear of the Villa giving a rare sense of space and serenity - the hallmark of design at Aashyana Lakhanpal. There is space: a 10m x 10m open plan design encompasses living, dining and a fully equipped kitchen; high ceilinged light and an airy with three double doors leading onto the veranda and garden areas. The quality of elegance is maintained in all three large double bedrooms, each ensuite and with individual access to the garden and pool.

Terracotta-tiled floors, soft white walls and the dark wood frames of the windows and doors grace all the rooms and enhance the contemporary quality of the furniture, object d'art and, of course the art - the collecting of which is a lifelong passion of the owner, Ajai Lakhanpal.

Both internally and externally the Villa Venus has been thoughtfully provided with easy access to all facilities for wheelchairs if needed.

Whether relaxing in the air conditioned luxury of the interior or sunbathing in the sumptuous gardens around the pool, let your senses be seduced by the Villa Venus.
